Leopold IV. Duke of Anhalt-Dessau

Succeded his grand-father as Duke of Anhalt-Dessau in 1817 and took the title Duke of Anhalt in 1863 after the extinction of all other lines of the house.

Son of Friedrich, Prince of Anhalt-Dessau (1769-1814) and his wife Amalie, Landgravine  of Hesse-Homburg (1774-1846)

Born: Dessau 1. Oct 1794

Married: Berlin 18. Apr 1818 Friederike, Princess of Prussia (1796-1850)

• Auguste, Princess of Anhalt-Dessau (1819-1822)
• Agnes, Princess of Anhalt-Dessau (1824-1897) m. 1853 Ernst I. Duke of Saxe-Altenburg (1826-1908)
• Friedrich I., Duke of Anhalt (1831-1904) m. 1854 Antoinette, Princess of Saxe-Altenburg (1838-1908)
• Maria Anna, Princess of Anhalt-Dessau (1837-1906) m.1854 Friedrich Karl, Prince of Prussia (1828-1885)
