Illegitimate son of Prince William, Duke of Gloucester, the future King William IV. of the United Kingdom (1765-1837) and the actress Dorothea Bland, called Mrs. Jordan (1761-1815)

Married: 2. Jan 1845 Sarah Gordon (1829-1901), daughter of Lord Henry Gordon (1802-1865), son of George Gordon, 9th Marquess of Huntley (1761-1853) and Louisa Payne (d.1867). Her uncle Lord George Gordon was married to Augustus’ sister Augusta FitzClarence
