George V. of he United Kingdom

Born Prince George Frederick Ernest Albert of Wales. Created Duke of York in 1892 and Prince of Wales in 1901. Succeded his father as George V. King of the United Kingdom in 1910.

Son of Edward, Prince of Wales, later Edward VII. King of the United Kingdom (1841-1910) and Alexandra, Princess of Denmark (1844-1925)

Married: Chapel Royal, St. James’s Palace, London 6. Jul 1893 Princess Mary of Teck (1867-1953), his second cousin once removed, daughter of Franz, Duke of Teck (1837-1900), himself a morganatic son of  Alexander, Duke of Württemberg (1804-1885), and Princess Mary Adelaide of Cambridge (1833-1897).


Died: Sandringham House, Norfolk 20. Jan 1936

Buried: St. George’s Chapel, Windsor
