Margaret of Connaught

Princess Margaret Victoria Charlotte Augusta Nora hof Connaught, called “Daisy” by her family. She was known as Crown Princess Margareta in Sweden.

Daughter of Prince Arthur, Duke of Connaught and Strathearn (1850-1942) and Luise Margarethe, Princess of Prussia (1860-1917).

Born: Bagshot Park, Windsor 15. Jan 1882

Christened: Private Chapel, Windsor Castle 11. Mar 1882

Married: St. George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle 15. Jun 1905 Gustaf Adolf, Hereditary Prince of Sweden, who succeeded as Gustaf VI. Adolf, King of Sweden in 1950 (1882-1973), son of Gustaf V. King of Sweden (1858-1950) and his wife Viktoria, Princess of Baden (1862-1930).

Issue:

Died: Stockholm 1. May 1920 from an infection following a mastoid operation. At the time of her death she was expecting her sixth child.

Buried: Karlsborg Island, Solna, Sweden
