Melusine von der Schulenburg

Ehrengard Melusine von der Schulenburg, created Duchess of Munster in 1716, Duchess of Kendal in 1719, and Fürstin von Eberstein in 1723.

Daughter of  Gustav Adolf von der Schulenburg (1632-1691) and his wife Petronella von Schwencken

Born: Emden (then Brandenburg) 25. Dec 1667

Maid of Honor to Electress Sophia of Hanover. She became the mistress of her son, Electoral Prince Georg Ludwig (1660-1727), araound 1691 and followed him to England when he succeded as King of Great Britain (as George I).

Illegitimate issue by George I. King of Great Britain and Ireland [officially the daughters of her sisters Margarethe Gertrud von der Schulenburg and Sophie Juliane von Oeynhausen respectively]:
