Married: Château de St. Cloud 26. Apr 1840 Viktoria, Princess of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha (1822-1857), daughter of Ferdinand, Prince of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha (1785-1851) by his wife Antonie, Prinzessin Koháry de Csábrág et Szitnya (1797-1862).
His sister Clémentine d’Orléans married Viktoria’s brother August in 1843.
