Married: Tegernsee, Bavaria 8. Oct 1905 Victoria Melita, Princess of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha (1876-1936), his first cousin, daughter of Prince Alfred, Duke of Edinburgh, Duke of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha (1844-1900) and his wife Maria Alexandrovna, Grand Duchess of Russia (1853-1920).


Died: Neuilly, France 12. Oct 1938

Buried: Schloss Rosenau (Rosenau Castle), Coburg, Bavaria; his remains were later transferred to the Grand Ducal Mausoleum of the Peter and Paul Fortress, St. Petersburg after the Fall of the Soviet Union.
