Son of Ernst I. Duke of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha (1784-1844) by his first wife Luise, Princess of Saxe-Gotha-Altenburg (1800-1831)

Died: Windsor Castle 14. Dec 1861 from typhoid fever

Buried: St. George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle
