Caroline Mathilde Helene Ludwiga Augusta Beatrice of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha; named for her maternal grandmother, Karoline Mathilde, Duchess of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg and called „Calma“ by her family.

Daughter of Carl Eduard, Duke of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha (1884-1954) and his wife Viktoria Adelheid, Princess of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg (1885-1970).
