Victoria Melita of Edinburgh

Born Princess Victoria Melita of Edinburgh.

She was styled Princess of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha after her father ascended to this Duchy in 1893. Named for her grandmother Queen Victoria and her birthplace Malta. She was known as “Ducky” to her family.

Daughter of Prince Alfred, Duke of Edinburgh, who succeded as Duke of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha in 1893 (1844-1900) and his wife Maria Alexandrovna, Grand Duchess of Russia (1853-1920)

Buried: Schloss Rosenau (Rosenau Castle), Coburg, Bavaria; her remains were later transferred to the Grand Ducal Mausoleum of the Peter and Paul Fortress, St. Petersburg after the Fall of the Soviet Union.
