Fredrik I. of Sweden

Born Friedrich Landgrave of Hesse-Kassel. Became prince consort of Sweden following his marriage to Princess Ulrika Eleonore of Sweden, later Queen regnant. Became King of Sweden as Frederik I. in 1720 when his wife abdicated in his favor. Also reigning Landgrave of Hesse-Kassel after the death of his father.

Son of Karl I. Landgrave of Hesse-Cassel (1654-1730) and his wife Amalia of Courland  (1653-1711)
