Married: Château de St. Cloud 20. Apr 1843 Clémentine, Princess d’Orléans (1817-1907), daughter of Louis-Philippe I. King of the French (1773-1850) by his wife Maria Amalia, Princess of the Two Sicilies (1782-1866).
His sister Viktoria was married to Clémentine's brother Louis, Duc de Nemours and his uncle Leopold I King of the Belgians to Clémentine's sister Louise d'Orléans.
